Swiss Parliament votes to ban Muslim women from wearing the Burka in public

The parliament in Switzerland has voted to ban the Muslim Burka from being worn in public.The National Council on Tuesday voted 88 votes in favour of the ban while 87 voted against with 10 abstentions.
Members voted in favour of a ruling that “no person shall cover his face in public places and in places or hide in the public domain or the provision of public services (excluding sacred sites).”
According to Swiss media reports. For the vote to be passed into law and made effective, the ruling will have to undergo further scrutiny and more voting in the Parliament.
