Ondo State government yesterday confirmed a case of Lassa Lever at the Owo/Ose in Owo and Ose Local Governments Areas of the state while two other suspected cases are under investigation. They have all been transferred to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State for treatment.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dayo Adeyanju, while briefing newsmen, confirmed the case of the dreaded disease in Akure, Ondo State capital, adding that the surveillance and containment machinery of government had been stepped up to prevent a spread of the disease.
He said the government was ensuring the deadly viral disease does not spread since Delta, Anambra and Edo states which the state shares border with has recorded some cases of the viral disease.
